Hey! So Glad You're Here.

Welcome to the Trans Voices Project! Whether your trans, cis, young or old, I hope your able to find something here worth reading. I want to produce a series of blog posts and essays full of the experiences of trans people, and giving them a platform to uplift their stories.

Hello, my name is Wren, and I decided I wanted to create a tangible form of support and solidarity with the transgender community in the form of a collection of stories, interviews and artworks from the community.

As a gender queer person myself, I have always struggled with feelings of isolation and something that truly helped me was finding and speaking with other trans people - those who have more experience, insight and advice on navigating life as a trans person. As you read through this blog, you will find stories, artworks, and pieces dedicated to the real-life experiences of trans people in the community.

Within these pages, you’ll find a wide range of experiences: moments of joy, struggle, reflection, resilience, creativity, and community. Every piece shared here is rooted in real life and lived identity. You will also find a collection of essays compiled with the intention of sharing advice and information about supporting and living as trans people. I felt that there was not enough information or resources for allies and families of trans and gender nonconforming people so I decided that this would be a good place for those things as well.

Having met with and spoken to each of these people individually, I had a lot of time to think about the variety in experiences as a trans person, and it only became clearer to me how important this project was. I hope you manage to find something in this blog that is comforting, educational, hopeful or even just a bit of trans joy.
